But not only are full-body massages beneficial, scalp massages or scalp therapy, has been becoming more and more popular because of how beneficial they can be, after all, there’s nothing like a good scalp massage to melt away tension. The benefits from these treatments extend far beyond relaxation as these scalp treatments unclog the hair follicles, releasing natural conditioning oils. For those times you can’t make it in, you can give yourself a scalp massage at home — it’s that easy! Begin with a shampoo and/or conditioner that is rich in clay which acts as a sponge, absorbing grime with the soothing properties like that of tea tree oil and rosemary, all of which help with itching. The next step is exfoliation; using a fine-tooth comb or a brush with flexible rubber bristles to loosen buildup. Wash hair clean, and then slowly massage a clay-based mask into your scalp and cover with a hair cap and rinse after 20 minutes. Not only will this help your hair feel fresher than ever before, but it will have that smooth, glossy look as well.
